Nissan GT-R impone un nuevo Récord Mundial Guinness por realizar el drifting más rápido

Nissan obtuvo el Récord Mundial Guinness por haber realizado el drifting más rápido. El récord fue establecido con una velocidad de 304.96 km/h y con un ángulo de 30 grados, utilizando un Nissan GT-R 2016 preparado especialmente para la ocasión.

Masato Kawabata, campeón japonés de la especialidad de drift, fue el encargado de alzarse con el récord que poseía anteriormente el polaco Jakub Przygoński. La marca fue establecida en el marco de un evento especial el cual tuvo lugar en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Fujairah, en los Emiratos Árabes Unidos.
El Nissan GT-R utilizado para batir el récord fue desarrollado con el apoyo y la coordinación de NISMO.

Su motor contaba con 1,380 HP para cumplir con el objetivo y fue adaptado para transmitir toda la potencia al eje trasero. El GT-R fue preparado por la compañía japonesa GReddy Trust y ampliamente probado en las instalaciones del Circuito de Fuji en Japón con Kawabata al volante. Este vehículo se creó para ser ágil y estable, características que inspiran confianza al piloto y esenciales a la hora de realizar tal hazaña.

Dubai, UAE - Nissan has set the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the fastest ever drift. The record was broken with a speed of 304.96 km/hr and 30 degrees angle using a specially-tuned MY16 Nissan GT-R. Masato Kawabata, the Japanese drift champion and title holder for the Japanese drifting series, clinched the top spot from former record holder Jakub Przygoński of Poland. The record was set during a special event that took place at Fujairah International Airport, UAE. The record-breaking Nissan GT-R was developed with the support and coordination of Nismo specialists. It was tuned to 1380 HP in order to set the record, and adapted so all the power went to the rear wheels. The GT-R was prepared by GReddy Trust and tested extensively at Japan’s Fuji Speedway facility with Kawabata at the wheel. The car was set up for agility while maintaining stability and confidence-inspiring handling characteristics - essential when performing such challenging feats. "Once again, Nissan has broken a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title and has made international history for the fifth time in the Middle East," said Samir Cherfan, Managing Director of Nissan Middle East. "The Nissan GT-R is one of the world’s most iconic supercars, proving time and again the incredible breadth of its capabilities, and has clearly demonstrated its performance leadership by beating the best drift cars out there. The fact that this achievement was set here in the UAE makes it even more special for our region. Setting this incredibly difficult world record was a clear demonstration of the excitement we are bringing to the Middle East with the Nismo brand."

“Una vez más, Nissan estableció un Récord Mundial Guinness haciendo historia a nivel internacional, por quinta vez, en Medio Oriente”, comentó Samir Cherfan, Director General de Nissan Medio Oriente.

“Nissan GT-R es uno de los vehículos más emblemáticos del mundo, se han probado en muchas ocasiones sus increíbles capacidades y ha demostrado su potencial para el drifting imponiéndose a todos sus rivales”, agregó Cherfan.

El Aeropuerto Internacional de Fujairah fue estratégicamente elegido por sus pistas de aterrizaje de 3 km de longitud, al considerarse ser lo suficientemente largas para realizar el desafío. Desde el principio, Nissan quería superar el récord a más de 300 km/h y Kawabata, que lidera el campeonato japonés de drifting con el Equipo Tokio, fue el elegido dentro un grupo de pilotos altamente calificados en esta modalidad.

“El Aeropuerto Internacional de Fujairah era el lugar perfecto para intentar batir este récord mundial y hemos recibido un gran apoyo en todos los niveles. Tuvimos que crear un taller en uno de los hangares del aeropuerto en sólo cinco días para tenerlo todo preparado para el Nissan GT-R 2016, especialmente las refacciones, neumáticos y todo lo que el equipo ha necesitado, así como los procesos de seguridad”, finalizó Cherfan.

Los técnicos de GReddy trabajaron en el Nissan GT-R los tres días previos al evento justo en el lugar de la acción y sólo contaron con tres intentos para intentar batir el récord de acuerdo con las directrices establecidas por el Récord Mundial Guinness. También se prestó apoyo técnico y personal de logística por parte de Prodrift Academy EUA; de Recaro, para el asiento del piloto; RAYS, suministrando rines especiales de aleación ligera, y Toyo Tires con unos neumáticos diseñados especialmente para drifting.
